This project (2021-23) is funded by Innovate UK Knowledge Transfer Partnerships. It is a collaboration with Crowd Charge Ltd., a leading company in the world of smart charging of electric vehicles (EVs). We are old friends, with Crowd Charge: This is not our first project together. I witnessed the birth, and how it grew into something amazing!
There is no doubt that the transition to EVs will play a major part in our success to tackle climate change. Making it happen, however, will require a few cogs to roll smoothly: from energy providers not blowing up a fuse when EV drivers all come back home from work, to managing fluctuating energy markets and adjusting prices and feed-in-tariffs for users.
In this project, we use data collected by Crowd Charge over the years, to build algorithms that provide tailored knowledge to both energy providers and EV drivers.
